EMS Systems Act - Act 37

8/18/2009

The passing of the new EMS system act, Act 37, will take effect over the next several years. There are some components that went into effect on August 18, 2009, when Governor Rendell signed the Act. Other components take effect February 1, 2010. A majority of the new Act will take effect February 2012, once the rules and regulations are approved and implemented.

Beginning this coming Spring, draft copies of the rules and regulations will be discussed during statewide town hall meetings. EMMCO West has been advised that at Symposium 2010, a town hall meeting will be conducted by the Bureau of EMS Director, Joseph Schmider.

During October through December, EMMCO West will be conducting town hall meetings to orient EMS stakeholders to the new EMS Act. The EMS act can be downloaded by clicking here.
