EMS Scholarships

The EMS Scholarship program is intended to assist agencies in obtaining trained personnel. The scholarship program is intended to provide funding for any PA Department of Health certification program (EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic).  There is also reimbursement available for up to two attempts of the National Registry written exams.  This program is only available to recognized/licensed EMS agencies within the EMMCO West Region. All applicants must be at least 16 years old for BLS scholarships (with parental consent) and 18 years old for ALS scholarships, AND have a permanent residence in the EMMCO West region, AND be a member/employee of a recognized/licensed PA EMS agency and agree to stay with the agency for a minimum of a year.  As part of the legislative requirement for this funding, scholarship recipients must reside within a “rural” designated school district. The following are considered “URBAN” School Districts, and therefore residents of these districts are ineligible for funding under this program.
