Prehospital Data Management

Prehospital data management has grown from hand-written trip sheets to computerized electronic patient care reports (PCRs). With the expansion of Internet-based computer programming, PCR’s can now be completed via the Internet. More and more day-to-day EMS activities are being moved to Internet applications.

Vendors of PCR (patient care report) software must be approved by the Department of Health Bureau of EMS. Prospective new vendors must have already completed and passed NEMSIS Gold compliance testing and should contact the Bureau of EMS directly at 717-787-8740.
